We want everything so quickly—from eating something to drawing someone, we are always on a rush train. As a person, I prefer to go slow when speed threatens quality or perfection. This article is about one of my philosophies that I follow in my day-to-day life.
Though we always try to do things fast, in many cases we still end up being late. Maybe you need 30 minutes to reach your office from home. Your office starts at 9:00 AM. If it’s already 8:50 and you’re still having your breakfast, then you try to finish the rest of the tasks before leaving your house very fast. As per my point of view—that is a big mistake. Why?
Our brain is not multitasking. It can’t focus on multiple topics at a time. As a result, when we pressurize our brain to focus on many things at once due to time constraints, the possibility of making mistakes becomes higher.
Now, if you are in a normal situation, maybe you’ll have time to rectify them. But when you are already late, a mistake will make you even more late! You really don’t have the room to correct any mistakes. The price will be higher.
Just think about the example we were discussing: It’s 8:50, but you are still taking your breakfast. If you rush too much, maybe the jelly will spill on your shirt, or water may fall on your shoulder. Where is the time to rectify them? Also, you can’t go with that jelly mixed shirt to office. So, you have to change it again. What is the total time you need to do that? You will be even more late! Rather, if you would go as per normal pace, you would not be facing this kind of issue and also would avoid different dangers. It would not take any extra time. Maybe you would be late, but you would not be too late!
